Recently, Daweisha Kapatnam Smart City Co.
, Ltd.
(GVSCCL) opened a 2 MW grid-connected floating solar power project
in Andhra Pradesh, India.
GVSCCL was established in 2016 to implement projects
proposed under Vishakhapatnam's Smart City Plan.
Delta Electronics has supplied two 1MW DelCEN1000 central inverters
to the project site.
Delta claims to have installed more than 1.
5GW of series and central grid-connected solar inverters
across India.
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh inaugurated
the project back in April 2018.
The project reduced water evaporation from the reservoir by 20%, thus protecting the rich flora and fauna
of the area.
It is understood that the project will cost about 120 million rupees (about $1.
71 million) and save 18.
6 million rupees in electricity bills
per year.
