Recently, India's state-owned enterprise GUVNL announced that it has participated in a 500 MW grid-connected floating wind power project
.
The state's top power company has also reserved a green risk option
for the purchase of an additional 500MW of power plant projects.
This is GUVNL's second bid
in a year.
The company stated in its tender documents that "in order to meet the renewable energy purchase obligation (RPPO) and meet future demand, GUVNL plans to go through a bidding process (phase 2) and purchase an additional 500 MW of projects
.

GUVNL will enter into a 25-year power purchase agreement
with the successful bidder from the scheduled commercial operation date of the project.
All wind power projects will be located in Gujarat with a minimum project capacity of 25 MW
.
It is understood that the last date for submitting bids for the project is April 2, 2018
.
Currently, Gujarat has an installed wind power capacity of 5,339 MW
.
Earlier this month, the power company also tendered to buy 500 megawatts of electricity from solar PV projects, in addition to an additional 500 megawatts of green buildings
.
Last June, GUVNL invited wind and solar developers to conduct separate tenders
for the 500 MW project.
GUVNL selected six companies in December to supply 500 MW of wind power
