Goldman Sachs' renewable energy company said it has secured about $1.
9 billion in equity capital investment and expects to invest about $4 billion in renewable energy projects

The privately held company, part of Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), owns and manages renewable energy assets
primarily in the United States.
GSAM said Goldman Sachs' renewable energy investor base includes institutions, family offices and high net worth individuals
.
"Given what we believe to be stable cash flows in relation to other financial asset classes, we identified Goldman Sachs Renewables and its early focus on distributed generation solar as an attractive option for our portfolio," said

GSAM says the company is one of the largest owners and operators of distributed generation solar assets in the
United States.
In March, Goldman Sachs Renewables purchased an $86.
9 million lease
worth of commercial solar projects from U.
S.
solar company SunPower.
Michelle Davis, senior solar analyst at energy and consultancy firm Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables, commented, "The SunPower deal demonstrates a growing interest
in commercial solar assets from institutional investors.
