According to the Oil & Gas Journal website on May 27, Global Venture Capital LNG plans to capture and sequester carbon at its 10 million tons/year Calcasieu Pass and 20 million tons/year Praquemine LNG plants.
After completing a comprehensive engineering and geotechnical analysis, Global Ventures LNG is launching a carbon capture and storage project that only requires regulatory approval to compress carbon dioxide on its site and transport it to the saline-alkali aquifer Permanent storage.
Governor John Bell Edwards said: "I am very pleased to learn that global venture capital LNG has discovered a significant opportunity for the capture and storage of carbon dioxide in Louisiana, which shows that Louisiana is in a position of infrastructure, industry, geology, and policy.
