Recently, Spanish energy company GES announced that it will build a 263 MW renewable energy project in Egypt, a wind farm, the construction of which is scheduled to begin
by the end of 2018.
It is understood that the plant will be located 25 kilometers from
the town of Ras Ghareb on the Red Sea (Gulf of Suez).
In the coming weeks, GES will assemble 125 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 2.

The energy generated will be sold to the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, a listed company responsible for transmission and distribution, which will first negotiate a power purchase agreement
with GES.
With this initiative, the Egyptian government aims to achieve 7 GW of wind energy production capacity
by 2022.
This ambition can be realized, especially since the country is full of wind energy projects

A feasibility study
is currently under way.
