On September 16, the German government announced that the country would take over Rosneft's operations in Germany to secure its energy supply
until the ban on Russian oil imports went into effect later this year.

The German economy ministry said the country's goal is to take over Rosneft's German subsidiary, a total of 3 refineries, which is the Federal Cyber Agency
    .

Gazprom's assets in Germany together account for about 12% of Germany's oil processing capacity, making it one of
the largest oil processing companies in the country.
