According to reports, the US General Electric Company announced that it has secured a $60 million coal power plant project
.
Advanced boiler technology and post-purchase services
will be provided for a 330 MW coal-fired power generation project in the Thar region.
Under the agreement, GE will supply advanced circulating fluidized bed boilers and steam turbine generator technology
to the Thar Energy Ltd.

The plant will use local lignite from the Thar Block II mine and supply power
to the national grid under a 30-year power purchase agreement.
The 330 MW TEL plant is expected to begin commercial operations
in March 2021.
TEL is part of
a 1,320 MW (four 330 MW power plants) integrated mining and power plant program under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor program.
Under the agreement, GE will provide critical services to support maintenance shutdowns, including spare parts supply, on-site inspections and consulting services to improve the operation of boilers and steam turbine generators at TEL power plants for a period of 12 years
