Spanish renewable energy retailer Capital Energy has selected GE Renewable Energy as the turbine technology partner
for wind power projects from 2021 to 2023.
Under the framework agreement, GE will supply Capital Energy with up to 1 GW of wind turbines and equipment
for Capital Energy's wind farm projects.
According to the agreement, the parties also commit to contribute to
the social and economic development of the areas affected by the project.
Specifically, GE plans to manufacture a large portion of the turbine components in Spain, with blades to be manufactured at LM Wind Power's plant, while the rest will be produced
through a local supply chain.
Capital Energy, founded in 2002, received 625 megawatts of wind capacity in the Spanish renewable energy auction in January 2021, accounting for nearly two-thirds
of the total wind capacity in this auction.
The company said its wind and solar project portfolio in Spain and Portugal totaled about 38 GW, of which 8.
5 GW have already entered the grid-connected generation phase
