Recently, monitoring and instrumentation company Gantner announced that it has been selected to provide comprehensive monitoring services for four photovoltaic power plants in Egypt, with a total project capacity of 230MW.

Gantner's project leader pointed out that after completing the commissioning of the 64.
1MW Benban solar power plant in Egypt in December 2017 on schedule, the company has signed a contract with the customer to provide a complete monitoring system for three photovoltaic power plants under the Benban complex, with a planned capacity of 166.
    5MW.

The company is deploying its inverter-independent 'data logger Q.
reader' and power plant controller (PPC) technology, a scalable modular design that is understood to control up to 100MW of power
    through a single Q.
    reader system.

PPC technology is said to meet the requirements of solar power plant grid connection rules in addition to the Egyptian Transmission Grid Code (ETGC
    ).
The grid communication of the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) is also based on the IEC 60870 standard
    .

He also said that the DC combiner boxes are monitored by Gangtner's latest cascade monitoring device, 'string.
bloxx', which purportedly provides current measurements that are 10 times more accurate than competing monitoring solutions, and are adapted to harsh environments, guaranteeing Egypt against temperature changes
    .

The company said that according to the IEC 61853 standard, meteorological data
such as solar irradiance, ambient temperature, module surface temperature and wind parameters will be monitored.
