In the third quarter of this year, residential rooftop solar led growth for the second consecutive quarter, accounting for 54% of the total increase, with rooftop solar in the commercial/industrial and government categories falling 44% and 2%,
respectively.
In the third quarter of 2021, the top 10 states accounted for about 83%
of cumulative rooftop solar installations.
Gujarat saw the most roof installations in Q3 2021, followed by Maharashtra and Haryana
.
"The rooftop market is showing signs of recovery and returning to pre-COVID levels

However, rising module costs and material availability are severely impacting the market, restraining growth

One of the reasons for the downward trend in rooftop solar installations in the third quarter of 2021 was the rising
module prices following the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
