    According to data from the Portuguese electricity company Redes Energeticas Nacionais (REN), renewable energy production is sufficient to cover 66% of Portugal's electricity consumption
    between January and July 2021.

    Hydropower and wind energy contributed the most, accounting for 30% and 26%
    of demand, respectively.
