French Economy and Finance Minister Le Maire said the country was trying to persuade EU partners to impose an embargo
on Russian oil.
Speaking on the "Europe 1" radio program, Le Maire said: "In view of what is happening in Donbas at the moment, it is necessary to stop Russian oil supplies
like never before.
" The President of France has clearly declared that we are trying to persuade our European partners to do so
.
French President Emmanuel Macron has previously advocated restrictions
on Russian oil and coal exports to the EU.
