through integrated solutions.

The move runs counter to Engie's traditional businesses, such as supplying gas
to China.
It is also part of the
company's global strategy to increase utility service revenue tailored to meet customer needs.
Kocher declined to name the property developer

"We are not an energy producer, we help our customers consume less energy

Engie has signed a memorandum of understanding with Chinese property developer Tus Holdings to develop 150 megawatts of solar and offshore wind projects
, according to a French government statement released Monday.
"We supply gas to China from time to time, but that's not our main business

As part of a joint pledge with the United States ahead of the 2015 Paris summit, China pledged to reduce carbon emissions to a trough around or before 2030 to help close the gap
between developed and developing countries.
China accounts for more than
a quarter of global emissions.
Kocher said Engie's main focus in China has shifted to developing solar projects and new technologies to help cities and office buildings save energy, such as using water instead of traditional fuels to cool buildings
.
Currently, Engie owns a 30% stake
in Chinese solar producer Liansheng New Energy.
