It is reported that the institute is jointly funded by Guangzhou Metro Design and Research Institute and Foshan Railway Investment Group, and was officially inaugurated
in Foshan Fortune Building.

According to Sun Zhongquan, deputy general manager of Foshan Railway Investment Group and chairman of Foshan Rail Transit Design and Research Institute, Foshan Rail Transit Design and Research Institute will retain the existing backbone team and core business
of the former Guangzhou Metro Design Institute Foshan Branch.
Relying on the technical and talent advantages of Guangzhou Metro Design and Research Institute and Foshan Railway Investment Group, based on Guangzhou-Foshan rail transit, facing domestic and foreign countries, to build a rail transit professional design institute
with moderate scale, excellent design and accurate service.

It is understood that since the establishment of Foshan Office in 2003, Guangzhou Metro Design Institute has successively undertaken the design general contracting, consulting, work site and Foshan line network planning and preparation work after 13 years of exploration, successively undertaking the first and second phases of Guangzhou-Foshan Line, Foshan Metro Line 2 Phase 1 project, Foshan Metro Line 3, Guangzhou Metro Line 7 West Extension Shunde Section and Foshan line network planning and preparation, making certain contributions
to the construction of Foshan rail transit, improving citizens' travel, and accelerating the overall development of the city.
