People's Daily Online, Beijing, April 18 (Reporters Zhu Yueying and Yu Lu) On April 17, the "China Oil and Gas Industry Development Analysis and Outlook Blue Book (2020-2021)" jointly written by the China Petroleum Enterprise Association and the University of International Business and Economics (Referred to as the "Oil and Gas Blue Book") and the "China Low-Carbon Economic Development Report Blue Book (2020-2021)" (referred to as the "Low Carbon Blue Book") were officially released to the public in Beijing.
Wang Zhigang, President of the China Petroleum Enterprise Association, said that the "Oil and Gas Blue Book" has been released for the 11th time this year.
The "Oil and Gas Blue Book" shows that due to the impact of the epidemic, low oil prices, and weak demand markets, the world oil and gas production and consumption will decline significantly in 2020, and the world oil and gas prices are in a low and fluctuating trend.
The "Low-Carbon Blue Book" pointed out that China's oil and gas companies’ strategies to respond to climate change and low-carbon transition are essentially a matter of choice of development strategies, and suggest three important strategies: First, increase the proportion of natural gas in the oil and gas portfolio; Increase investment in low-carbon fields and new energy projects; third, we must strengthen technological and business model innovation.
Participants unanimously agreed that China’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions will intensify efforts in the development of the oil and gas industry and the development of a low-carbon economy in the context of the global spread of the new crown epidemic and the ups and downs of the international economic situation, as well as the Chinese government’s efforts on the international stage.
