In September 2020, China proposed that carbon dioxide emissions should reach the peak before 2030, and strive to achieve the goal of carbon neutrality by 2060.
How China achieves the "double carbon goal" of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality has become a hot topic at the moment.
The first modern energy industry development conference with the theme of "Energy Revolution under the Ambitious Goal of Carbon and Carbon Neutrality" was opened on the 28th in Baotou City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
Dong Wancheng, deputy director of the Development Planning Department of the National Energy Administration of China, said that we must unswervingly follow the ecological priority, green and low-carbon high-quality development path, control the total amount of fossil energy, and gradually reduce the dependence on fossil energy, and strive to achieve China's national energy.
Regarding how to solve the contradiction between economic and social development and the tightening of energy supply shortage, Wu Qiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and vice chairman of the International Mine Water Association, put forward three ideas: open source, reduce expenditure, implement carbon tax and carbon trading.
"We are now facing a lot of pressure on the'Double Carbon Goal', but its opportunities are also great.
On how to understand the carbon peak?
Du Xiangwan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, deputy director of the National Energy Advisory Expert Committee, and honorary director of the National Climate Change Expert Committee, believes that carbon peaking is not a peak, but a process of gradually reducing carbon emission intensity to achieve carbon peaking; low-carbon transition is energy.
Du Xiangwan said that carbon peaking and carbon neutrality will bring about a series of economic and social progress.
More experts focus on "carbon neutrality.
Jin Yong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor of the Department of Chemical Engineering of Tsinghua University, said: “The United Nations advocates that everyone participate in emission reduction, so we feel that the realization of carbon neutrality is actually a big change.
"Just like foreigners said, the end of the Stone Age was not because stone tools were gone, but because new technologies replaced them.
"Achieving carbon neutrality should complete five tasks.
Jiang Yi cited Inner Mongolia as an example: "The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has a vast territory and sufficient biomass energy.
"The essence of smart energy is wisdom, which is not only integrated in the development, utilization, and technological innovation of energy, but also in the transformation of energy production, consumption, and system.
