First Solar, a leading manufacturer of cadmium telluride thin-film modules, announced that it has secured a A$151 million (US$113 million) credit line to build an 87 MW (AC) PV project
in New South Wales, Australia.
The project financing agreement was signed by First Solar's subsidiary with MUFG Bank, Ltd.
Société Générale Hong Kong Branch, and Mizuho Bank Limited
.
Among them, credit facilities include A$140 million (US$105 million) of construction loan financing and A$7 million (approximately US$5 million) of goods and services tax financing (GST) related to the expected tax burden during construction
.
The financing also includes a $4 million (US$3 million) letter of credit
.
According to the facility deadline set by GST, the PV project is expected to be completed
by May 2020.
