Fire at ALPLA plant in Berlin under control

A fire broke out in a warehouse of ALPLA on Sperenberger Street in Berlin last Thursd.

There were no casualties and no harmful substances were released, the report sa.

The fire, which started at around 16:30 on Thursday and was fully extinguished on Friday morning, started in the 3,000-square-metre warehouse on Sperenberger Street and spread to another building, supported by wood, cardboard and plastic on si.

The building and surrounding area were immediately evacuat.

Experts are currently examining the fire scene to determine the cause of the fi.

"We would like to thank you for your great efforts, we are assessing the situation at the scene together with the crisis management team and will work closely with the investigating authorities to find out how the fire started as soon as possible," said Georg Pescher, managing director of ALPLA Germa.

It is unclear when the plant will resume producti.
