According to the Oil & Gas Journal website on September 25th, ExxonMobil’s 800,000-ton/year ethylene plant in Fife, Scotland will launch an additional investment plan of 140 million pounds over the next two years to upgrade critical infrastructure and introduce new Technologies to improve operational reliability and performan.
The upgrade is scheduled to be completed by the end of 202
"These planned investments demonstrate our commitment to the long-term reliable operation of the plant," said Jacob McAlister, Fife Ethylene Plant Manag.
McAlister said: “While we are already the most modern plant of its kind in Europe, we are always looking for ways to improve reliability and efficiency through continuous maintenance and investment in new technolo.
ExxonMobil UK's announcement of the latest investment comes after the company confirmed in April that it had reached a final investment decision to proceed with an £800m expansion investment to increase production of ultra-low sulphur diesel at subsidiary Esso Petrole.
ExxonMobil also confirmed in May that it had completed a £75m project to double the capacity of its advanced elastomer production plant in Newport, Wal.
