On November 15, the first China Synthetic Base Oil High-end Forum hosted by ExxonMobil was successfully held
online and offline.
With the theme of "New Insights Syn Clean", the forum brought together industry experts and business leaders to discuss the sustainable development potential of advanced lubricant formulations under the situation of comprehensive low-carbon transformation of economic and social development, as well as low-carbon solutions
for the entire lubricant value chain.
At this high-end forum, Li Junfeng, executive director of the China Energy Research Association, made an in-depth analysis
of China's "dual carbon" policy and its requirements for industrial green upgrading.
Li Junfeng pointed out that China's carbon emissions mainly come from industry, and to achieve the "dual carbon" goal, the responsibility of energy conservation and carbon reduction in the industrial sector is heavy and arduous, and technological progress and energy transformation are the two keys
to China's low-carbon industrial transformation.
Subsequently, Xiaohan Sun, ExxonMobil Synthetic Base Oil Technology Engineer, introduced metallocene poly α-olefins (PAO) and MaX 3.

PAO offers companies the performance benefits of energy efficiency and the properties of
Esterex esters and Synesstic alkyl naphthalenes.
ExxonMobil's innovative development of a new generation of synthetic base oils can meet the dual needs
of Chinese companies for efficient production and carbon reduction, such as extending drain intervals and improving fuel economy.
Especially in wind turbine and electric vehicle applications, the new generation of synthetic base stocks can also improve the energy efficiency and thermal management of fluids, as well as the performance of harsh operating conditions, ensure the safe and long-term operation of equipment, and contribute to the development of
the new energy industry.
