Equistar Chemicals, a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil and LyondellBasell, announced an increase in the prices of PE products in North America
.
The price adjustments will take effect on June 1, the companies said in a May 19 letter to customers
.
ExxonMobil said prices for all of its LDPE and LLDPE products would increase by 5 cents/lb and HDPE resin prices by 7 cents/lb
.
At the same time, Equistar Chemicals said that all its grades of PE products will be based on the previous price adjustment, an additional 7 cents / pound
.
In addition, Dow Chemical and Chevron Phillips Chemical also announced on May 17 and May 18, respectively, to increase the prices of their PE products
.
Chevron Phillips is up 7 cents/lb, while Dow Chemical's is up 5 cents/lb
.
The price adjustments are effective June 1
