Evonik launches new high-efficiency ink defoamer for applications such as food packaging

Evonik recently launched a new series of silicone-based antifoam concentrates, TEGO® Foamex 811
.
The series consists of three products, all with outstanding defoaming effect and compatibility
.
Manufacturers can use in water-based paints (inks) or over varnish formulations depending on application needs
.

"The new TEGO® Foamex 811 defoamer has excellent defoaming efficiency and high compatibility, so it has a very broad range of applications in the printing ink industry ," said Susanne Struck, Head of Printing Inks Application Technology at Evonik's Coating Additives business line

In process formulations, TEGO® Foamex 811 also shows great application potential

It can be used both for grinding and for inking

The characteristics of the three defoamers are different, so formulators can choose the most suitable product according to their requirements

All three antifoams can be used in food contact packaging
.
They are free of solvents, biocides and mineral oils and comply with various regulatory requirements, including the Swiss Packaging Directive (Class A List), the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other regional regulatory authorities
.

In addition to food contact and non-food contact packaging, the three defoamers can be used in other areas such as inkjet printing, tissue, decorative and wallpaper inks
