Wind and solar energy developer European Energy A/S has developed and opened a photovoltaic test center
in cooperation with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
The center will allow both parties to better study solar energy
in the future.
The new center will allow European energy companies and DTU to work together on the next wave of technical equipment
for the production of renewable energy.
The European energy company funded the construction of the test center, which is located on DTU's campus
.
The European Energy Company also funds
several research projects at the centre.
The CEO of European Energy said, "In this project, European energy companies have the opportunity to collect the exact data that we can use in utility-scale solar projects around the world, while researchers have access to a solar park
equipped with hardware they designed.
”
The DTU Rector added, "At DTU, we feel the growing
demand for solar research and capabilities.
This is one of the
reasons why we recently launched Denmark's first solar research project.
The test center will provide better opportunities for research in the field of solar energy and will gain access to engineers with up-to-date knowledge and thus able to
meet the needs of the industry.
”
According to the person in charge, the test center will examine
the latest solar cell technology as well as various tracker structures and energy storage technologies.
One product currently being studied by the center is bifacial solar panels, which can absorb energy
on both sides of the photovoltaic panel.
