Recently, Eni Group announced that it plans to double its current 1.

At present, Eni has started the production of alternative sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which will contribute to aviation decarbonization in the short to medium term

By using Eni’s proprietary Ecofining technology to distill the biological components produced at Eni’s bio-refineries in Gela and Porto Marghera (Venice), Eni’s SAF production will exceed 10,000 tons/year beginning in early 2022

With the commissioning of Eni Biojet at the Gela Biorefinery in 2024, a further 150,000 tons of SAF will be introduced from 100% renewable raw materials, which will be able to meet the potential demand of the Italian market by 2025
