NOC and Eni announced that Mellitah Oil & Gas, Eni and NOC Joint Venture (50/50) have started production
on the first well of the Bahr Essalam Phase 2 offshore project.
The other two wells will be commissioned
within a week.
By October 2018, another seven wells will be operational

The second phase of the project completes the development of Libya's largest offshore gas field, adding 400 million standard cubic feet of production potential

Phase 2 will be completed between September and October, bringing the field's total production to 1.

Bahr Essalam, located 120 kilometers northwest of Tripoli, contains more than 260 billion cubic meters of natural gas

This was delivered to the Mellitah onshore processing plant via the Sabratha platform and then mainly used to supply the national network
