refiners set a new record
for jet fuel production this summer.
Last week, U.

jet fuel production rose by 128,000 barrels per day to 1.
97 million barrels, the highest level recorded by the U.
S.
Energy Information Administration since it began tracking U.
S.
jet fuel production in 1982.
EIA statistics also showed that U.
S
.
jet fuel production reached an all-time high for the second time in June.
Due to strong demand (not only from domestic seasonal travel, but also from Latin American countries), jet fuel spreads increased
significantly year-on-year.
Since the beginning of May, the average spread for jet fuel in the US Gulf of Mexico has been minus 5.
26 cents/gallon, compared to minus 12 cents/gallon
for the same period in 2017.
