Royal DSM, a global science company in nutrition, health and sustainable living, will use 100% renewable energy throughout North America from the end of this year, thanks to a new power purchase agreement with Ørsted A/S.

As a result, DSM will exceed its ambitious scientific goal of achieving 75% of the world's purchased electricity from renewable sources by 2030
.
A power purchase agreement with global sustainable energy leader Ørsted will help fund a new solar facility in Texas
.
This will ensure an annual supply of approximately 920,000 MWh of additional renewable electricity capacity to the US energy grid, equivalent to the needs of 100,000 homes, some of which DSM will utilize
.
As a result, DSM will significantly reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by about 50,000 tons/year
.
This is DSM's third power purchase agreement of its kind in North America, following a wind power agreement with NextEra Energy Resources in 2017 and a solar power agreement with Origis Energy in 2020
.
DSM is committed to generating 75% of its global electricity demand from renewable sources by 2030, and 100% as early as possible, while halving its Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions between 2016 and 2030
.
DSM is also a member of RE100, a collaborative global initiative that unites companies committed to 100% renewable energy
