On July 28, Dow and Tongyuan Industrial, a Malaysian plastic stretch wrap film manufacturer, launched a new bio-based polyethylene (bio-PE) stretch wrap film product line in the Asia-Pacific region

In this collaborative project, Tongyuan Industry uses polyethylene resin made from renewable raw material extracts provided by Dow as a raw material to produce products

"Dow's mass balance approach supports sustainable plastics production systems by encouraging the use of sustainable feedstocks," said Mingzhuang Li, vice president of commercial, Asia Pacific, Dow's Packaging and Specialty Plastics business unit

Datuk Hong Benquan, chairman of Tongyuan Industrial, believes that after adopting Dow's bio-based resin, Nano Bio film has high performance while reducing the use of plastic, thereby meeting customers' business and sustainability needs
