Dow confirms stop of PE expansion in Europe

The CEO of Dow Chemical said the company does not plan to continue its polyethylene (PE) expansion project in Europe, NCT report.

The CEO pointed to the current demand situation and market outlook in Europe and said they did not see any reason to move the project forward to the final investment decision sta.

Dow first announced plans in May 2017 to build a world-class 450,000-ton/year PE facility in Euro.

Meanwhile, the company reported quarterly net income totaling $347 million, compared with $714 million a year earli.

The company's packaging and specialty plastics segment also reported lower net sales in the third quart.
