China Dongfang Electric International Corporation announced that it has been awarded a 150 MW power plant project in Saidpur, Bangladesh

The State Procurement Cabinet Committee at the day's meeting approved the power sector's proposal
to award China Dongfang Electric a deal for diesel power plants.
The committee, chaired by Finance Minister AMA Muhith, also approved nine other proposals
.
Bangladesh's cabinet director said the approved recommendations included the purchase of medical equipment
for eight teacher training colleges and hospitals, subject to financial assistance from the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
In addition, the Bangladesh Procurement Commission approved a proposal by the Ministry of Housing and Facilities to build 288 homes for government employees in Mirpur-6 and a 20-storey building for the national security intelligence service
