DOMO Chemicals and Solvay have signed an agreement to acquire Solvay's high-performance polyamide business in Euro.
The business includes production, sales, technical support, R&D and innovation services and currently employs about 1,100 peop.
The acquisition of the PA 6 leader will significantly strengthen Domo Chemicals' downstream nylon engineering plastics business - and create a sizable European leader, entering the market as the European leader in PA6/
The result: a backward-integrated business with unique technological capabilities and a secure supply of key raw materia.
Speaking of DOMO Chemicals, CEO Alex Segers called the acquisition "an important step forwa.
He explained:
"By integrating the complementary strengths of the different teams and talents of the two companies, we will drive future sustainable growth by building a unique and competitive all-in-one nylon solutions provider (6 and 6) and through a strong innovation platform, Thus enhancing our excellence to our custome.

BASF intends to acquire Solvay's eight production sites in Germany, France, China, India, South Korea, Brazil and Mexi.
The purchase price paid by BASF for the transaction is expected to be EUR 3 billion on a cash- and debt-free bas.
The acquisition will give BASF better access to important growth markets in Asia and South America and foster close cooperation with local custome.
