The structural regulation and catalytic performance of polymetallic oxides/eutectic solvents completed by the team of Professor Lu Hongying of Yantai University creatively constructed a polymetallic oxide/eutectic solvent catalytic system, and systematically studied
its structural regulation and catalytic performance.
This study has scientific guiding significance for in-depth understanding of the nature of diesel deep desulfurization and promoting the development of carbon dioxide catalytic conversion technology, and opens up new ideas
for the development of environmentally friendly oxidative desulfurization process and carbon dioxide catalytic conversion.
Relevant research results recently won the second prize of natural science of
the 2021 Shandong Science and Technology Award.
Polymetallic oxides are a kind of metal-oxygen cluster compounds formed by oxygen atoms bridging metal atoms, which have both acid catalytic properties and redox catalytic properties, and are efficient bifunctional catalysts
.
Polymetallic oxides are structurally stable and can be used in homogeneous or heterogeneous catalytic environments or in conjunction with phase transfer
catalysts.
This kind of polymetallic oxides has high activity, good selectivity, no pollution to the environment, less corrosive to equipment, and is widely used in
various homogeneous and heterogeneous catalytic systems.
Eutectic solvents are stable solvents formed by the intermolecular association of hydrogen bond donors/acceptors, and weak interaction and melting point matching between molecules are the key to the
formation of eutectic solvents.
Due to the characteristics of low melting point, low vapor pressure, biocompatibility, low cost and easy availability, eutectic solvents have shown good application prospects
in the fields of separation process, functional material synthesis, electrochemistry and chemical reaction.
At present, the research and application of eutectic solvents are increasing, but their use in the oxidative desulfurization and chemical conversion of diesel fuel has rarely been reported
.
Using oxygen as an oxidant to catalyze the deep desulfurization of diesel and building a suitable catalytic system for the chemical conversion of carbon dioxide is an important issue
that needs to be solved urgently worldwide.
According to Lv Hongying, the project team conducted systematic research on the structural regulation and catalytic performance of polymetallic oxides/eutectic solvents around this topic, and achieved a series of original results
.
They prepared Anderson type polymetallic oxides and used them as catalysts to catalyze the deep desulfurization of diesel oxide with oxygen as an oxidant, realizing activated oxygen oxidative desulfurization
under gentle reaction conditions without sacrificing agents.
It has been found that Anderson type polymetallic oxides have extremely high oxidative desulfurization efficiency
.
The research team also constructed an oxidative desulfurization system of acidic eutectic agent, and introduced acidic eutectic solvent into the oxidative desulfurization reaction of diesel as a catalyst and reaction medium, breaking through the technical bottleneck of large-scale industrial application of traditional organic solvents and ionic liquids, and opening up new ideas
for the development of environmentally friendly oxidative desulfurization process.
In addition, the project team used eutectic solvents as green media and catalysts for the study of
carbon dioxide cycloaddition reactions.
The results show that under the condition of metal-free, solvent-free and agent-free, the carbon dioxide conversion rate is 100% and the selectivity can reach 99%, which provides a new idea
for the catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide.
