Ørsted signed a contract with Taiwan's Wenjin Harbor Engineering Company (WJ) to install array cables
for Taiwan's Greater Changhua offshore wind power project.
Denmark's Wosch Energy awarded Taiwan Wenjin Port Array Cable Installation Contract
Walsh Energy said the NT$1 billion contract calls for the installation of a wide range of array cables in Wenjin Harbor and will secure a lot of work
for projects to be completed in 2021.
Washu Energy's four wind power sites in Changhua County have a total generating potential of 2.
4 GW, of which 900 MW of capacity will be completed
in 2021.
The agreement includes provisions
that allow Wenjin Harbor to invest in a new cable-laying vessel, WoenJinn #7.
This is the first major contract
awarded by Walsch Energy for the Greater Changhua offshore wind power project.
According to Walsch Energy, this shows the reliance on local suppliers to deliver on its commitment
to the offshore wind industry.
The contract follows the cooperation between the two companies over the past two years, as well as the Memorandum of Understanding signed in November 2017 and the Letter of Intent
dated May 2018.
Walsch Energy's team of experts will help Wenjin Harbor develop the required standards and permissions
for the project.
