On June 8, Chubu Electric Power held a ceremony to complete the Tokuyama Hydroelectric Power Station, which will be built under the Tokuyama Reservoir in Gifu Prefecture

With a total power generation capacity of 161,900 kilowatts, the company's general hydroelectric power station is the largest

Construction began in October 2009 and was completed in about six and a half years

According to the station, Unit 1 has a maximum power generation of 139,000 kilowatts and Unit 2 has a power generation capacity of 24,300 kilowatts

The annual power generation is about 300 million kWh, which is equivalent to the annual consumption of 83,000 households

From this reservoir, the flow rate is maintained, and the water wheel that rotates using the drop starts generating electricity

The maximum water consumption reaches 100.

Unit 2 will commence operations in May 2014 and Unit 1 in March this year
