Sinochem News recently, Covestro announced at the "Design Shanghai" event that it has cooperated with the Color Research Institute of Tsinghua University Art and Scientific Research Center to develop a sustainable material project from the perspective of color, material and surface treatment (CMF).
Research
.
Christopher Stillings, vice president of Covestro and head of the global color and design center of the polycarbonate business unit, said that through collaborative research, the two parties are committed to creating aesthetic design solutions for recycled materials based on their recycling characteristics
.
Based on research results, designs and experiments, the project aims to integrate CMF aesthetic design into Covestro's more sustainable polycarbonate material, while promoting design concepts that take into account both aesthetics and recycling
The project will be carried out in multiple stages
.
The Color Research Institute of Tsinghua University Art and Science Research Center will explore design paths and inspirations for the CMF design of Covestro's recycled polycarbonate plastics through consumer surveys, expert interviews, big data mining, and design industry research
Song Wenwen, executive deputy director of the Color Research Institute of the Art and Scientific Research Center of Tsinghua University, said: “This is a rigorous, scientific, and consumer-centric design process.
The purpose is to make the material from the most intuitive visual and tactile design process.
To impress consumers and tell the story of environmental protection
with beauty.
The goal of this cooperation is to extend the design model that combines circulation and aesthetics that began in the Asia-Pacific region to other regions
