Work with multiple partners
Work with multiple partnersOn June 20, Covestro announced that it is working with the Korean petrochemical company SK geocentric (SKGC) and Finland's Neste to produce an important polyurethane based on renewable raw materials through a mass balance method.
In this collaboration, Neste provides SKGC with renewable Neste RE materials, which are made entirely from renewable raw materials such as waste and grease residue
Covestro said that this cooperation is the beginning of the three companies' future expansion of cooperation, hoping to use more sustainable raw materials to replace fossil raw materials in the production of polymers and chemicals in Asia Pacific and more regions
Replacing traditional petroleum-based fossil feedstocks with Neste RE can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, thereby improving the carbon footprint of polyurethane raw materials produced by Covestro and downstream industries, said Zhiya Su, Chief Commercial Officer of Covestro
