Composite auto parts maker Continental Structural Plastics (CSP, Auburn Hills, Michigan, USA) broke ground on October 1 for a new manufacturing facility in Seguin, Tex.
CSP and its parent company Teijin (Tokyo, Japan) are investing about $70 million to build the 200,000-square-foot factory, which will reportedly create 200 production, engineering and administrative jo.
CSP chose Seguin as the location for its newest manufacturing facility due to its skilled workforce, proximity to many customer and prospect facilities in Texas and surrounding states, and various incentives and reliefs, including land grants The payments and tax cuts come from funding from the City of Seguin and Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) grants from the state of Texas in exchange for specific capital investments and workforce commitments from CS.
"We continue to see growth opportunities for our advanced composites and multi-material components globally, so we ensure we have the manufacturing capabilities we need to meet our customers' needs," said Steve Rooney, CEO of C.
