A groundbreaking ceremony
was held on September 6.
It is reported that the power station spans the Ōbu and Okinosu areas along the coast of Kakegawa City, with a power generation capacity of 18 MW, and is expected to be operational
in October 2017.
The annual power generation capacity is used by 5,400 households
.
In December 2013, the city of Hangchuan, the Shizuoka Prefectural Enterprise Bureau, and the Asahi Group signed an agreement
to build the photovoltaic power plant.
The city of Hangchuan is responsible for exempting procedures from the scope of the Agricultural and Industrial Law and making local adjustments, the Enterprise Bureau is responsible for leveling the land, and the Asahi Group is the main
body of business.
The right and left banks of the Higashi-Otanigawa estuary supply approximately 67,700 photovoltaic panels
on 17 hectares of land.
It is reported that more than 70 relevant personnel participated in the groundbreaking ceremony, and prayed for the smooth progress
of the project.
Asahi Group Chairman Takeuchi Ryo said that he will contribute to the construction and development of his hometown
.
Mayor Saburo Matsui said that he would promote the use of renewable energy and hope that the goal
of building a prosperous city could be achieved.
