Chilean electricity company Colbún has agreed to purchase part of SunEdison's project assets in Chile and sign a contract
for the power supply of SunEdison's photovoltaic project.
The agreement includes the sale of two PV projects under construction and their respective long-term power contracts
.
The larger of the two projects under construction is the Olmué Solar Park in the Valpara area, which has received environmental approvals
.
Another project is located in the 57MW Hagia Sophia Solar Park near Santiago and environmental permits have already been processed
.
The agreement includes a land transfer that will allow the project to be expanded by 30-40 MW
.
The two projects will be integrated into Chile's Central Grid (SIC).
In addition, Colbún and SunEdison signed a 15-year 200 GWh annual supply agreement
.
Under the latter agreement, SunEdison will build a 100 MW photovoltaic power plant
.
