On November 16, the daily crude oil output of Iraq's Missan Oilfield Group, operated and served by CNOOC Iraq, exceeded 300,000 barrels (about 45,000 tons) for the first time, reaching the peak output of the oilfield, which is of great significance
to promoting energy cooperation between China and Iran to jointly build the "Belt and Road" and promote the development of Iraq's oil industry.
The Missan oil field is a 100 million-ton large oil field, located in southeastern Iraq, adjacent to the Iranian border, 350 kilometers
from the capital Baghdad.
In 2010, CNOOC and Turkish National Oil Corporation signed a 20-year technical service contract
with Iraq for the Missan Oilfield Group.
By the end of October this year, the cumulative oil production of the Missan oilfield group had exceeded 1 billion barrels
.
The relevant person in charge of CNOOC Iraq introduced that in recent years, in the face of many challenges such as the new crown pneumonia epidemic, CNOOC has overcome difficulties, overcome the impact of adverse factors such as natural decline of oilfields, limited operating equipment and support resources, and adopted a series of management innovation methods and technical research measures, effectively solved the bottleneck problem restricting production, achieved the target of 300,000 barrels per day ahead of the original plan, and made every effort to ensure the peak output for seven years
.
At present, CNOOC has carried out energy cooperation in more than 40 countries and regions on 6 continents, established a number of overseas oil and gas production bases, and overseas net proven oil and gas reserves exceed 2 billion barrels of
oil equivalent.
