On March 15, China Electronics Technology Group (CETC) announced the start of construction of a 200 MW photovoltaic cell manufacturing plant
in Andhra Pradesh, India.

According to the Indian Economic and Trade Network, CETC India expects the construction time of the plant to take 18 to 20 months
.
Plant commissioning will take place in
the last quarter of next year.
The PV cell manufacturing plant will cost Rs 320 crore on 18 acres and is expected to provide employment
for 300 people in the first phase of the project.
According to previously released information, the Andhra Pradesh government expects to receive $8 million a year in tax revenue
after the completion of the project.
CLP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB)
in January this year for a battery manufacturing plant.
