Clariant has announced that its bio-based processing and dispersion additives for biopolymers in plastics – Licocare RBW Vita range, Licolub FA 1 and Licowax C – have received “OK Industrial Compostable” certification

According to reports, Licocare RBW Vita additives, containing at least 98% renewable content, enable biopolymer manufacturers and compounders to achieve faster processing speeds and further enhance performance, especially in improving the surface gloss of the final product quality, smoothness and improved durability

According to Manuel Mueller, Global Segment Director of Clariant's Additives business unit, this "OK Industrial Compostable" certification strengthens Clariant's collaboration with its customers

"Transforming bioplastics into viable commercial products has long been limited due to, for example, a lack of suitable bio-based additives," Mueller said.

The application of these solutions does not compromise the compostability or biodegradability of the final product.
