Clariant has signed an agreement to acquire the remaining 70% of the Brazilian personal care company Beraca from the family of founders Sabará
.
Clariant has held a 30% stake in the company since 2015
.
The purchase price will not be disclosed
.
The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2021
.
Beraca is one of the leading manufacturers of natural ingredients for the personal care industry, offering fats, oils and botanicals that are collected and extracted in environmentally sustainable production processes

Based in the Amazon region, Beraca fosters community development and makes communities part of the global personal care business, while strongly committed to sustainability and fair trade processes

In the more than 30 years since its founding, Beraca has received multiple awards and recognitions from customers and institutions as a leader in the ethical sourcing of personal care ingredients

Since 2015, Beraca has invested significant resources in expanding research and innovation, and has steadily increased production capacity

The family-owned business has about 90 employees and 2020 sales of $15 million
