Chinese embassy says Chinese citizen injured in chemical gas leak in Aqaba, Jordan

The Chinese Embassy in Jordan said on the 28th that Chinese citizens were injured in the gas tank explosion and chemical gas leakage accident in the southern port city of Aqaba in Jordan on the 27.

The embassy issued a statement on the 28th saying that the embassy immediately dispatched a working group to Aqaba to coordinate rescue and provide consular protection and assistan.

The embassy said that it will continue to maintain close communication with Jordanian foreign affairs, public security and other departments and hospitals, and requires Jordan to ensure that Chinese citizens receive timely and good treatme.

According to a Jordanian official report on the 28th, the accident has caused 13 deaths and more than 300 injuri.
