Recently, CGN and Kenya Nuclear Power Authority signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly strengthen Kenya's nuclear power development
based on China's self-developed Hualong No.
1 technology and its improved technology.
It is reported that Kenya's existing installed power capacity is about 2 million kilowatts
.
According to the Kenyan government plan, the total installed capacity is expected to reach 5 million kilowatts in 2016 and 17 million kilowatts
in 2030.
As part of this plan, Kenya plans to build four megawatt-class nuclear power units
in four phases by 2030.
