Nuclear power "going global" has become one of
China's national strategies.
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has repeatedly "promoted" nuclear power during foreign visits, which has once again set off a climax
in domestic nuclear power construction.
Since its birth, China's third-generation nuclear power technology "Hualong No.
1", which has been entrusted with the mission of "export", has frequently spread good news
this autumn.
A month and a half ago, Pakistan's Karachi No.
2 nuclear power unit using CNNC's "Hualong No.
1" technology achieved FCD and officially started construction, which means that "Hualong No.
1" has achieved the first overseas landing
.
On September 7, CGN signed a memorandum of understanding
with the Kenya Nuclear Power Authority at the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Base in Shenzhen.
The two sides will carry out comprehensive cooperation
in the development and construction of nuclear power in Kenya based on the "Hualong No.
1" technology and its improved technology.
The reality is that apart from the Pakistan project, China has not yet obtained nuclear power projects in overseas markets and has not been able to truly "go global"
.
Nuclear power projects are mostly linked to politics, and Pakistan's nuclear power projects are particularly political
.
The industry sees it more as a government-aided project
.
If the project is obtained through bidding and bidding, it can be regarded as "going out" in the true sense of the word, and the competitiveness of China's nuclear power has not been reflected
in the overseas market.
Before 2014, CNNC and CGN were independently developing their own third-generation nuclear power technologies and completed preliminary design plans, but the National Energy Administration has not approved
the domestic demonstration projects they hope to land.
