It is reported that the first domestic national standard on the recycling of power batteries proposed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology - Vehicle Power Battery Recycling and Dismantling Specification (hereinafter referred to as the "Dismantling Specification") will be officially implemented
from December 1 this year.
The standard clearly points out that recycling and dismantling enterprises should have relevant qualifications, further ensuring the safe, environmentally friendly and efficient recycling of power batteries
.
From February 1 next year, three new national standards for power batteries, including "Vehicle Power Battery Recycling Residual Energy Detection", will also be officially implemented
.
With the construction of a relatively complete national standard system, the disorderly state of power battery recycling and echelon utilization is expected to change
.
The "Dismantling Specification" sets strict requirements on the safety, operating procedures, storage and management of waste power battery recycling, solves the development problems of the industry to a certain extent, and standardizes the recycling and dismantling, professional technology and power battery recycling system
of China's automotive power batteries.
Domestic power batteries will enter the peak of scrapping around 2020, with a cumulative scrap volume of 120,000-170,000 tons, while the actual dismantling and recycling in 2016 is less than 10,000 tons
.
Due to improper treatment of cathode materials and electrolytes in power batteries, environmental pollution is huge; At the same time, China must alleviate the serious external dependence on scarce metals such as cobalt through recycling, so power battery recycling will become the key to the development of
domestic new energy vehicles.
