On December 27, 2022, CNOOC Tianjin Branch learned that the peak daily oil output of Luda 5-2 North Oilfield, China's first large-scale ultra-heavy oil field, exceeded 700 tons, marking a new breakthrough
in the large-scale development of China's offshore ultra-heavy oil.
It is understood that Luda 5-2 North Oilfield, as the first large-scale ultra-heavy oil field offshore, is located in the Liaodong Bay area of the Bohai Sea with an average water depth of about 32 meters
.
The viscosity of extra heavy oil is very high and solid at room temperature, and it is very difficult to extract extra super heavy oil from 1,000 meters underground (equivalent to the height of 300 floors) on a narrow oil production platform
.
Faced with the difficulties of little experience in offshore ultra-heavy oil reservoir development, high difficulty in exploitation and high economic threshold, CNOOC researchers adhere to scientific and technological innovation, carry out innovative research from many aspects such as fine scheme design and efficient injection and production pipe column, and successively overcome many world-class problems such as the integration of offshore ultra-heavy oil injection and production, forming a series of characteristic development technologies such as jet pump injection and production integration and high temperature safety control, which supports the effective use and efficient development
of offshore ultra-heavy oil.
