It was learned from the website of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission that recently, the country's first helium exclusive exploration well "Weihelium 1 Well" implemented by Shaanxi Yanchang Oil and Gas Group was successfully drilled in Huazhou District, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province, marking an important step
in the exploration of helium resources in the Weihe Basin.
As a national strategic scarce resource, helium is widely used in military, aerospace, medical, optical fiber and other industries, and is the "stuck neck" resource that countries are vying to obtain, and its exploration and development is of great
significance.
In July 2018, Yanchang Oil & Gas Group obtained the first helium prospecting right in China and began to implement the geothermal water and helium census project
in the Huazhou-Huayin area of Weinan City, Shaanxi Province.
According to the overall arrangement, Yanchang Oil & Gas Group plans to invest nearly 100 million yuan to deploy two-dimensional seismic surveying, multi-port helium exploration well drilling and related test research, as well as the construction of
ground supporting facilities.
At present, the two-dimensional seismic survey project has been successfully completed, and the favorable structural trap for the development of helium accumulation in the western part of the tenement range has been delineated, and the optimal well position
of the block has been selected.
"Wei Helium 1 Well" was supported by the Geological Exploration Fund of the Department of Natural Resources of Shaanxi Province, and was constructed by Yanchang Petroleum Drilling Company, drilling more than 4,000 meters, the main task is to carry out the logging and logging method test of underground helium identification, accurately take all the formation parameters, study the helium accumulation mode, implement the favorable trap and helium resources, further optimize the helium favorable target area, and strive to achieve a breakthrough
in helium resource prospecting in the Weihe Basin.
