on "The Development Status of Optical Fiber Communication" at the Optoelectronic Industry Development Summit Forum.
Zhao Zisen said that China's optical fiber enterprises have basically achieved self-sufficiency
in optical fiber preforms.
China's optical fiber can produce 140 million core kilometers per year, and the profit of optical fiber preform accounts for 70%
of the overall optical fiber.
Zhao Zisen said that at present, single-mode fiber technology has reached the top in terms of capacity, and the construction and application of optical fiber communication, such as fiber to the home, is still in progress; Fiber optic network technologies, such as the Internet of Things, continue to evolve; Optoelectronic device technologies, such as sensors, continue to evolve
